FAQs

I noticed the app looks much different than before - how do I access my account?

Yes! We recently updated the app so that you no longer have to sign up through Facebook, along with other design improvements. You’ll now sign in with your mobile phone number. If you originally signed up with the older version of Meddle (for iOS that’s before January, for Android it’s before March), please follow these steps to link your account:

OK, I signed up, now how do I get a match?

Don’t worry, no automatic blind dates here! To get a match, we require at least one of your Meddlers to swipe right on a potential date *and* one of their Meddlers to swipe right on you (i.e., Laura’s Meddlers need to swipe right on Sam, and Sam’s Meddlers need to swipe right on Laura). After you’re matched by your respective Meddlers, we leave it up to you two to start a conversation and take it from there.

How do I use the app?

Here’s a quick diagram of how to navigate the home screen:

How many of my Meddlers need to approve someone for there to be a match?

That’s up to you! The default is just one Meddler’s approval, but if you have more than one Meddler (and you want everyone’s approval), you can change the threshold for a match to be higher. Just go to the Meddlers section of your Friends – icon in bottom menu – and tap on the “Change Threshold” button which appears when you have more than one Meddler.

Threshold (1)

Can Meddlers chat with the matches?

Nope. We leave the chatting up to the single people once they’re matched.

What if my Meddlers just want to mess with me?

Seriously? We’d suggest choosing different Meddlers.

Can I start using this app as a Meddler and invite my single friends?

Totally! In fact, maybe this is just the nudge they need?

Since Meddlers can be in a relationship already, won’t this app make it easy for them to cheat?

Not at all. In order to chat with anyone on Meddle, you’d need to be matched with them—which means you need to have signed up as someone looking for a date and invite Meddlers to swipe for you (meaning you’d need at least one person to be complicit in your infidelity). With anything in life, nothing is guaranteed, but Meddle actually makes it pretty hard to use the app to step out on your significant other.
